I'm reading one seminar and I find it interesting in it's simplicity to define a dimension algebraically.

For example, curled dimension (a circle with radius R) seems to have a certain logic in defining a dimension but do we HAVE to rely on only that sort of extra dimension?

Also, they use the statement that Radius is defined in whole steps due to quantum mechanics and yet the estimates for R range from very small to very big. Are there different limits at which QM begins or ends for p_x, p_y, p_z, p_extradimensionall?
