Literature Review: Teeter-Totters

In summary, a literature review is a critical analysis and synthesis of existing research and literature on a specific topic. It is important because it helps identify the current state of knowledge on a topic, identify gaps in research, and provide a foundation for new research. To conduct a literature review, you must first define your research question or topic, identify relevant databases and sources, critically analyze and evaluate the literature, and organize and present the review in a coherent manner. A literature review is different from an annotated bibliography in that it provides a comprehensive analysis of the literature, while an annotated bibliography simply lists and describes the sources used in a research project. When determining which sources to include in a literature review, one must consider their relevance, credibility, quality of research

What should a literature review of a teeter-totter contain?

Some more info would be useful, you know.

I think of:
- different types of titter-totters.
- mechanisms to make the "springback" (e.g. springs, simple lever w/ gravity,...)
- a mathematical model of the types (spring-mass system or lever system)

You can also write a poem on them, if you wish.

1. What is a literature review and why is it important?

A literature review is a critical analysis and synthesis of existing research and literature on a specific topic. It is important because it helps identify the current state of knowledge on a topic, identify gaps in research, and provide a foundation for new research.

2. How do you conduct a literature review?

To conduct a literature review, you must first define your research question or topic. Then, you will need to identify relevant databases and sources to search for relevant literature. Next, you will need to critically analyze and evaluate the literature, and synthesize the key findings and themes. Finally, you will need to organize and present your review in a coherent and logical manner.

3. What is the difference between a literature review and an annotated bibliography?

A literature review is a comprehensive and critical analysis of existing research and literature on a specific topic, while an annotated bibliography is a list of sources with brief descriptions or summaries of their content. A literature review provides an overview and analysis of the literature, while an annotated bibliography simply lists and describes the sources used in a research project.

4. How do you determine which sources to include in a literature review?

To determine which sources to include in a literature review, you must first define your research question or topic. Then, you can identify relevant databases and sources to search for literature. From there, you can critically evaluate the sources based on their relevance, credibility, and quality of research. You should also consider the publication date and the author's perspective.

5. How do you organize a literature review?

A literature review can be organized in different ways, depending on the research question or topic. Some common ways to organize a literature review include chronologically, thematically, and methodologically. Chronological organization presents the literature in order of publication date, while thematic organization groups sources based on common themes or topics. Methodological organization groups sources based on the research methods used in the studies.
