Finding motivation in science

  1. May 28, 2007 #1
I find that I work best when I am really passionate and believe in what i'm doing but i've been finding that thinking deeply about why i'm doing it and where its going to lead ends up killing my motivation because there are so many unexpected and undesirable outcomes.

How do people deal effectively with this? Do people have similar troubles?

Focus on the desirable outcomes. There are undesirable outcomes in every walk of life. The challenge is not to let them scare you away from what you want to do.

I find that particularly true for me for exams.
