In summary, the volume of a house with dimensions of 62 ft by 29 ft and 7.3 ft high ceilings is 13125.4 cubic feet. To convert this to cubic centimeters, we need to first convert the dimensions to inches and then to centimeters. Therefore, the volume of the interior of the house is approximately 400062 cubic centimeters.

Homework Statement

A house is 62 ft long and 29 ft wide, and has
7.3 ft high ceilings.
What is the volume of the interior of the
house?
Answer in units of cm3

Homework Equations

LxWxH ??

The Attempt at a Solution

62x29x7.3= 13125.4
Then I converted it to cm and got 400062

But the units are not centimeters. They are cubic centimeters. You need to convert from "cubic feet" to "cubic centimeters"
(You went from "feet" to "cm" which is incorrect)

I would suggest doing the conversion at the beginning of the problem

your should be 62x29x7.3x(12x2.54)^3 cm3

since 1 ft =12 inch and 1 inch =2.54 cm

What is the definition of mass?

Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object. It is a fundamental property of matter and is measured in kilograms (kg).

How is the mass of a sphere calculated?

The mass of a sphere can be calculated using the formula M = (4/3) * π * r^3 * ρ, where M is the mass, π is the mathematical constant pi, r is the radius of the sphere, and ρ is the density of the material the sphere is made of.

What is the difference between mass and weight?

Mass and weight are often used interchangeably, but they are actually two different concepts. Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object, while weight is a measure of the force of gravity acting on an object. Mass is constant, but weight can change depending on the strength of the gravitational pull.

Can the mass of a sphere change?

Assuming the sphere is made of a uniform material, the mass will not change. However, if the sphere is made of a material that can change its density (such as a gas), the mass may change if the volume or density of the sphere changes.

Why is it important to know the mass of a sphere?

The mass of a sphere is an important piece of information for various scientific and engineering calculations. It can also help in determining the density, volume, and other properties of the sphere. Additionally, knowing the mass of a sphere is crucial in studying its motion and interactions with other objects.
