Finite Element Method problem

  1. Jun 21, 2012 #1
    Hey guys;
    Hi;
    My filed is Geotechnical Engineering, working with meshes including nodes and elements.
    Suppose that I have a cubic element with 8 nodes, each side's length is unit say 1 meter. I've applied uniform stress and equal at each side like σ=[165,165,165,0,0,0], so obviously I don't have any shear stress but as you can see there are normal stress at x, y, and z direction.
    So, using the FEM, we can get the forces at each nodes at each direction, do I have to necessarily get equal forces at each node at each direction, because of uniform stress?

    I can display more details in a case of necessity.
    Thanks.
