See that wing flex :surprised

The infamous real B-52 crash
Great clips guys.

$s splattered all over the place, i would be crying for weeks.
That looked like flutter at the tips.
Sounds rude What causes tip flutter Fred ?
Hope no one was hurt. Sometimes there's casualties:
Ouch, that has gotta hurt :(.
another one bites the dust.
It's an aerodynamic instability. Loading causes the surface to deflect. Eventually it either breaks or bends back. Then it gets going again. Without proper damping the vibration keeps going or gets worse to the point of failure. Pretty much any aerodynamic surface, including propellers and jet fans undergo flutter testing.
One time i could have crashed a plane, after the engine test i did not switch
to both mags, when i said to the instructor ( it seems a bit sluggish) he had
the screaming add dabs Needless to say our aborted flight ended
ok, but there is no way i would have crashed, you could put a 152 down on
some ones lawn
