Homework Help: Force and Tension problem

  1. Oct 6, 2007 #1
A tetherball leans against the smooth, frictionless post to which it is attached. The string is attached to the ball such that a line along the string passes through the center of the ball. The string is 1.60m long and the ball has a radius of 0.140m with mass 0.410 kg

I already drew my free body diagram and figured out the tension on the rope against the ball to be 4.03 N I just cant figure out how they want me to find the force the pole exerts on the ball.

Consider the horizontal forces acting on the ball.
