The company Patriot One Technologies is marketing a system called PatScan using AI and microwave technology to detected concealed weapons (gun, knives, explosives) without imaging (Cognitive Microwave Radar).

Apparently it detects reflected microwaves from a person and analyzes the spectrum for telltale signatures based on scans of actual weapons. It is said to have a 91% true positive for a single direction scan which can be improved with scans from multiple directions. It is low power, small , and easily concealed.

These are all relative specifications. Do you have any absolutes?

It is claimed to have a false positive rate of 5.6%, and a true positive rate of 91.6%.

Given 800 million passengers and 3000 guns per year, > 99.99% of positives will be fake.
