Geometrical GUT?

  1. Nov 5, 2012 #1
    Hi PF!

When Einstein was done with his General theory of Relativity, he was trying to build upon this theory, through different approaches, like the Kaluza-Klein theory, to try to build a classical theory of everything, which was purely geometrical. Since this wasn't successful throughout the many approaches tryed, I was wondering, if any life was brought back to a purely geometrical approach to GUT theories? Specificly a theory where the forces are described through curvature of a geometry (much like in general relativity).
