Graph and graphing question

  1. Oct 12, 2006 #1
How should you graph the function y = (5/x^2) -3 so that it looks linear? Can you explain your reasoning?

Do you mean, how to approximate the function with a linear function and graph this very function?

If you plot y vs 1/x^2, it will be linear.
