Hey!

I'm running GRTensorII version 1.79 on Maple 12. When I try to load a metric, I get the following message
Error, (in grload) unable to read `C:/Programme(x86)/Maple12/metrics/kerr.mpl`

I've installed everything according to the guide, but it just won't work.

Maybe anybody has an idea what the reason might be?

Thanks in advance!

It's several years since I've used GRTensor but I do recall that the mapleinit file is quite sensitive to the proper identification of the path to your GRTensor directories. In particular, I seem to remember that it was picky over the correct use of quotes to delimit the path, as well as some issues relating to the use of backslashes over forward slashes in the path.

It's fiddly, but keep playing around with it and you'll get there.

Hi.
I really need to install GRTensorII on maple. but I can't. could you please explain how to install it.

1. Why am I getting an error when trying to load the metric in GRTensorII on Maple 12?

There could be several reasons for this error. One possibility is that the metric file is not saved in the correct format for GRTensorII to read. Another possibility is that there is an error in the metric file itself, such as a missing or incorrect component. It could also be an issue with the version of Maple or GRTensorII being used.

2. How can I fix the "unable to load metric" error in GRTensorII on Maple 12?

To fix this error, first make sure that the metric file is saved in the correct format for GRTensorII. Then, check the file for any errors, such as missing or incorrect components. If the issue persists, try updating to the latest version of Maple and GRTensorII, as this may resolve any compatibility issues.

3. Can the "unable to load metric" error in GRTensorII be caused by a typo in the file?

Yes, a typo in the metric file can cause this error. Make sure to double check the file for any spelling or formatting errors that may be causing the issue.

4. Is there a specific directory where the metric file needs to be saved for GRTensorII to load it?

Yes, the metric file should be saved in the same directory as the GRTensorII package. Alternatively, you can specify the full path to the metric file when trying to load it in GRTensorII.

5. What should I do if none of the above solutions work for fixing the "unable to load metric" error in GRTensorII?

If none of the above solutions work, it may be helpful to consult the GRTensorII user manual or reach out to the GRTensorII support team for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or identify any other underlying issues that may be causing the error.
