    His famous Crackpot Index http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/crackpot.html

I quit reading at number 8. He mispelled Einstein and is clearly a crackpot. I'd e-mail him about this, but the e-mail keeps getting bounced back (what a strange e-mail address).

Of course, even crackpots have birthdays.

    Happy Birthday!!

With Joan earlier we were thinking, John you need to lower your workload and party a little more :tongue2:
And then we realized, maybe you spend too much time either on workshops and seminars, or posting the pictures of all those beautiful places on the web

    Anyway, happy birthday John

I feel a bit befuddled by all these celebrating humans, don't really understand such unfathomable social customs, but yeah, like, ditto, dude!

This reminds me of someone here... can't quite place it.

Oh yes, that one too. Now who could I be thinking of...?

    Thanks!

Thanks to all of you! My birthday was not much fun, since I spent it grading final exams, while my wife is having fun in Hong Kong.

But, you just brightened my post-birthday a lot!

    Life is busy.

On Friday, my grad students Jeff Morton and Derek Wise hand in their theses. Jeff is still frantically finishing the proof of his big theorem: a construction of extended topological quantum field theories from finite groups.

On Monday, I'll go to Derek's graduation ceremony and "hood" him. Jeff isn't into that sort of stuff. (Neither is Derek actually, but his parents are coming to see him graduate, so we have to put on a show.)

Next Tuesday, I'll visit my parents in DC. My wife returns to Riverside from Hong Kong on the 24th; I return on the 25th. Then on the last day of June we'll fly to Paris - the beginning of a fun summer packed with travel and conferences!

    Thanks again!

Damn! Me and my hair would fit right in with your other two grad students. I was born in the wrong place at the wrong time. Make sure you take time out to have deferred birthday fun

You just made Evo's day.

Have a safe trip to and from, and enjoy Paris with the missus. :approve:
