In summary, the conversation revolved around birthday wishes for Hypatia and a discussion about Halloween traditions, including visiting Houdini's grave. Hypatia mentioned her love for Halloween decorations and shared a picture of a festive cake. She also mentioned that her husband used to attend a wand breaking ceremony on Halloween at Houdini's grave with the Society of American Magicians. Many members wished Hypatia a happy birthday and shared their own birthday traditions. The conversation ended with more birthday wishes and a Native American birthday song.

Ahahah, thank you so much. The only thing I have planned today is a nap. I didn't know Houdini was burried there. See? Even if your as old as dirt, you can learn something new everyday.
Not to worry about the ghost, I hear there not fond of Welsh Rabbit.

SO, what is a Halloween Birthday like (assuming you're in the US)?
People feel shortchanged when their Birthdays fall on Christmas, because they think "lose" presents. Especially as children

Dittos on all the birthday greetings, Hypatia. Here's hoping that you take your camera to the only place that could keep Houdini in. Waiting for pictures! ...

Wow, hope we're sharing all the cake! Thanks so much for all the great wishes. And yes, a Halloween birthday has always been fun. As a kid always had a big party, then the whole group would head out for tricks or treats. I have more Halloween decorations then anyone should have.
Bon Fire starts at 8..all are welcome, all are welcome...come to the Lightttttttttt!

Well... we think they have him in there now!~
For years we have been able to get in by going around though an open gate of another grave yard and get to him. But but now they not only have up a huge metal fence with barbs on it, but they have tossed a tarp over the part of the gate where you can see his grave from the sidewalk.
Since we knew where it was, we lifted the tarp and the gate was chained in such a way that we could have squeezed in, but hubby did not want to risk getting arrested.
We did take a picture through the gate of his grave which is something we have never done.
Many times in the past years hubby has gone with SAM, Society of American Magicians on the Jewish date of his passing that was Halloween the year he died and they have a wand breaking ceremony. But that day does not fall on Halloween this year. They have a key to the gate. Will ring you up if we see something in the photo.

Patty sweetie I am trying to get to you but have not been able to cause all day people have been keeping me busy.
I see how many people have responded to your birthday thread.
You are soooooo loved.
{smooch, hug hug}
