Hi there - I'm an engineer and have worked in software since graduating in 92. In the last year or so, I've spent a fair amount of time helping my daughter's with their math and science homework and in the process, I've been reminded of just how much I love this stuff!!

It's now been 35 years since I took Born's book on Relativity out of my elementary school library, and after much effort ... decided I didn't understand a word of it! LOL Now it's time to right this wrong!! :)

So I've kicked off a self study project in physics. My goals are:
    (1) learn general relativity and some cosmology (in particular, black holes and cosmic inflation sound cool)
    (2) learn quantum theory. I read Feynman's QED and have been following LHC discoveries and find it all fascinating.
    (3) develop intuition for these topics to the extent it's possible (I'm looking at YOU quantum mechanics!!)

I've been a lurker on these forums for a while now, and am happy to finally join!
