Under My PF (at the top) then click on Avatar, you can choose "Upload Avatar" which will allow you to upload an image from your computer.

Sorry for not being specific, I meant, "how can I post an image in a thread/post?"

I had to upload a URL, but it's been a long time

When you create a post, you will see "upload" in the bottom right, click on it, then choose the file and upload.
