Hill grade

  1. Apr 28, 2004 #1
The grade of a hill is a slope and is stated as a percent. What would the horizontal run be for a hill with a vertical rise of 800 feet and a grade of 8%?

You might want to try posting questions like this in the Homework Help Forum. Anyway:

    [tex] 8\% = \frac 8 {100} = \frac{\rm rise}{\rm run} = \frac{800}{\rm run} [/tex]

    Solve for the run.
