Holographic Universe theory

  1. Aug 21, 2013 #1
    Hi all,

I was thinking about the Holographic Universe theory today and wondered...

...If the universe was a hologram, could it explain why time slows down the faster you travel due to holograms being made of light? Is it impossible to travel faster than the speed of light because you would be travelling faster than the the thing (light) which makes the universe exist in the first place?

See my response to your other post about time slowing down.

I've read lots of literature that states it does slow down for the travelling object, such as the link above. If this IS the case, is it because of my initial question or is it just that the object trying to go as fast as light is just part of the hologram anyway, as if the universe is a simulation and everything that happens in it is already written out?
