B How calculate the frequency in violin?

  1. Dec 13, 2016 #1
A violin string is tuned to a certain frequency (first harmonic or the fundamental frequency). If the string is tuned to 520 Hz and the violinist puts a finger down on the string one-eighth of the string length from the neck end, what is the frequency of the string when the instrument is played this way?
