In summary: F--"In summary, the conversation is about a game called "Dexterity Challenge" where players try to complete it in the shortest amount of time. Some players have found the secret behind the game and have achieved high scores, while others are still struggling. The conversation also mentions the possibility of getting an A++ in the game and the fact that some players have accidentally gotten an F--. There is also a mention of a possible algorithm behind the game and some players discussing their scores and attempts at the game.

How much time did you use to finish the game ? What's your grade ?

I used about 6-7 minutes to finish the game and got F- - in my first try. But then I improved a lot after finding out the secret behind.

first try was a 31sec for a B-

  • #4
42 seconds for a C

  • #5
34 seconds and a B-.

Would you think that an A+ is possible?

Yeah, it IS possible ! In fact, my best result is 3 seconds and got an A++!

I played this game over and over again and found the following:
A++ -- <5 seconds
A+ -- 6-10 seconds
A -- 11-15 seconds
A- -- 16-20 seconds
... and so on

What is the secret?
I won't leak the secret for the time being.

Co'mon, who want to challenge my F - - and my A++ ? It seems that no one can get a F- - here except me.

Still, haven't figured out the secret.

On my fifth try, I got an A- . Still not an A++, but I will try.

I think I am getting addicted to the game, though.

Recon, good luck!

Got an F--!

Although, in my case, it happened completely by accident!

The controls got stuck and I had to refresh the page several times. I didn't realize that the clock wouldn't reset itself.

  • #11
Well in my case, the F-- wasn't an accident.

YEEHA! I think I have it figured out.

Just scored an A++ with a personal record of four seconds. Still a second behind you, but hey, I've given it my best shot. I REALLY have to do something else.

The folks hosting the website should have a list of weekly/monthly records. I'm really sure that someone will come along and complete the dexterity challenge in 1 second.

WOOT! first try did it in 20 seconds! i got an A-

and then i read the rest of the thread to hear the secret.

  • #14
I finished with A in 11 sec

  • #15
Just got A+ in 10 sec

just one short to get A+

It seems that everyone has found out the algorithm behind this game.

  • #20
I didn't

I got an F-- in my 2nd attempt. I opened the window dropped it to the task bar, then forgot all about it came back later, rediscovered the window on my task bar and started playing. Seems the clock started before I dropped to the task bar, time was huge, score was F--

:)

Whoohoo! 3 secs! So what's the algorhythm?

  • #23
It IS a good thing if you score fast, right, isn't it?

How do you cover your professional errors and omissions liability?

We'll call you Dexter from now on  You don't show any physical likeness to this guy, do you? Tsu?

Not by any relative measure on this forum!

Among others, I defer to Bystander, Marcus, Jeff, Tom, Nereid, SelfAdjoint...need I say more?

They MUST look more like Dexter than I do.

Monique, think about Ivan's hint while trying to find out what's the algorithm behind.
