How fast could a human move before turning into a black hole

  1. Nov 15, 2015 #1
The question kind of says it all. How fast fast could a human move before Relativistic mass made him collapse into a black hole(the answerer can choose whatever mass and volume that they want for the equations).

A search of these forums will turn up many copies of the answer: There is no such speed. No matter how fast you go, you do not become a black hole. Velocity is a frame-relative quantity. You cannot make someone turn into a black hole or not simply by choosing a different reference frame.

This is a misconception. You will not turn into a black hole because of relativistic mass. In your rest frame, absolutely nothing changes and you can always describe things using that frame. Relativistic mass is generally not a concept in use by professional physicists. See our FAQ in the Insights section.
