How Hollywood fools Us.

  1. Dec 14, 2004 #1
Recently I happened to see 'The Bullet Proof Monk'.
(for those who have missed it ,its about a Buddhist monk protecting an ancient scroll by virtue of which he is almost invincible and Bulletproof)

In the climax, when he passes the scroll to his successor, there is a great spiritualistic type background music and song.
    Karmanye vadikarasthe.....(1)
    Parithranya Sadhuunam.....(2)
    So far so good.
But what irks me is that its a verse from Holy GEETA completely unconnected with the theme or from buddhism ,which means:
Do thine duty without wishing for a reward.(1)

    When evil befalls,
    When the Good are threatened,
For the destruction of the Evil
And the emancipation of the Good,
Every Yuga the Supreme Self will appear on the Earth. (2)

I am now pretty sure that the music at the end of Gladiator is a Spanish Lullaby.
