How many gluons in a proton?

    How many gluons are needed to bind the 3 quarks in a proton?

    The gluons that bind the quarks are virtual, and not really in the proton.
    There may be some real gluons in the proton, but the number, if any, is not known. It is a study for ongoing experiments and theoretical conjecture..
