How much do you remember?

  1. Jun 1, 2007 #1
from your education and how much should one remember? This is a question to practising academics. Do you remember what you use frequently or is it important to you to remember almost everything that you've learned because you're constantly faced with new problems?

For example I remember pretty vividly the past couple of semesters but I don't have something like the law of cosines memorized.

The real question is what should I know by heart but that's a difficult question. Btw I aspire to be a theoretical physicist, though I don't know in what subfield.
