The Hubble Repair Mission is a planned mission to service and repair the Hubble Space Telescope, a powerful tool used by scientists to observe and study distant galaxies and other celestial objects.
The Hubble Space Telescope has been in operation for over 30 years and has made numerous groundbreaking discoveries. However, over time, its components have deteriorated and need to be replaced or repaired in order for it to continue functioning at its full potential.
The Hubble Repair Mission is currently scheduled for May 2020. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this date may be subject to change.
The Hubble Repair Mission is a collaborative effort between NASA, the European Space Agency, and various contractors and scientists. Astronauts will be sent to the Hubble Space Telescope to perform the repairs and upgrades.
During the Hubble Repair Mission, astronauts will replace aging instruments, install new technology, and perform maintenance and repairs on various parts of the telescope. This will extend the life of the Hubble Space Telescope and allow it to continue providing valuable insights into the universe for years to come.
