In summary, the Hubble Repair Mission is a planned collaborative effort between NASA, the European Space Agency, and various contractors and scientists to service and repair the Hubble Space Telescope. This mission is necessary due to the deterioration of the telescope's components after over 30 years of operation. It is currently scheduled for May 2020, but may be subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Astronauts will be sent to the telescope to replace aging instruments, install new technology, and perform maintenance and repairs in order to extend its lifespan and continue its important observations of the universe.

This is welcome news. The old girl still has some life left in her. My cynical side worries this mission will be used for political leverage to delay or cancel future projects. But, HST has been a spectacular success . . . probably the best thing in astronomy since Galileo invented the telescope.
