Human following robot technology, bluetooth

    Ok, I am in the beginning stage of design a robot that will follow me. I don't want to use the ridiculously expensive laser scanner as seen in this link youtube video:



    Yeah it's pretty sweet that it follows you and everything, but that sensor costs about $2500.

    I'm looking for a poor mans human following robot that uses bluetooth to locate and follow the person as opposed to a fancy laser. Something along the technological lines of how the Wii locates the position of its control. What is this kind of technology called? Is there an inexpensive bluetooth version that triangulates positions? Anyone want to help me? Thanks.
