In summary, ' and nothing before it.In summary, the user attempted to upload a picture to ImageShack, but the picture did not load and instead showed up as a red 'x'. I can't get ImageShack to display my pictures any more; they just show as a red 'x' (and I can't do anything by clicking or right-clicking it). Before I go pestering the customer service guys, I thought that I'd check here to see if anyone else is experiencing similar.

They did a server dump, I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I lost some of my pictures I had hosted on them and had to re-upload them.

Try out http://www.imagecave.com" [Broken], it never ever let me down.

That's the same site that I use, and I even tried it through the donated link, but it's still doing the same thing. It says that the picture is there, and has all of the tags, but it won't display. This is what I get:
"
That's the alleged forums link to my picture.

I am taking a wild guess, but try removing the .th from your file as it may screw up the link.

When naming files it is ussually a good idea to not use .'s since some programs will get confused and think it is a new extension.
Try _th.jpg instead. (Or just remove all dots, I know that imageshack changes the filename so perhaps you did not type .th but you typed .something)

Hmm I see you changed it and it still doesn't work, that's odd.

Weird. It's showing up with a black background instead of white in the thumbnail. But the link works if you click on it.

Edit: Even if you go to the page of links in imageshack, the thumbnail shows up funny on their site too. I've never seen anything like that before. Not a red X at least.

I got this from their FAQ, I guess it is possible that the server is down.

I uploaded an image and hotlinked it, but it shows up as a red-x.

FAQ said:
Make sure you are using the correct link that is given to you on the upload-done page. If you uploaded an image and it now shows as a red-X, it may be that the server on which your image is located is temporarily down, however this is a rare occurrence.

I am posting this both to test if my imageshack is working as well as to show you what I see when I click your image.

Thanks, all. I didn't, in fact, name the file at all other than car1.jpg for storing on my own system. I transferred it to this work computer via thumb drive, and it renamed the thing by itself. :grumpy: I also didn't change it back.
Anyhow, I took your advice, radou. ImageCave worked fine. The link is for an Engineering thread, but I'll put it here as well just in case you're curious.

Well, nuts! Now I'm getting a 'Explorer can't open page' message when I click on it.

Here is a recent imageshack upload.

eyelasmiteeg4.jpg

the address is img245.imageshack.us/img245/9083/eyelasmiteeg4.jpg

compare that to your address img292.imageshack.us/my.php?image=car1oa3.jpg

Thanks, 'Circles'... but that doesn't look anything like the picture I uploaded. I can tell that it's the right one because of some of the parts and labelling, but my picture is a coloured-in blueprint.

I see all of them, so still am not sure what the problem is. No red Xs (or blue question marks...Safari's slightly politer equivalent) other than the one in dontdisturbmycircles' image that includes one inside some other stuff.

Well, the code is all messed up there.

I see it, but it's nothing like the original on imageshack.

If it makes any difference, this is not a new thing for me. The same thing happened with the drawings of my Hallowe'en makeup about a month ago. I still can't see them.

I just thought of something. The ImageCave code that I picked was for a thumbnail. I'm going to deke back in and grab the one for a big picture.

edit: "[img

Well, that certainly didn't help any. :grumpy:

Yea all the images on the first page of this page show up as just red x's for me but that may be browser specific. You can call me ddmc, I realized I have a long --- name.

I don't know what could be causing the color to be removed, that's weird. Hopefully you figure it out, I will be back later and will check to see if you got it going.

ddmc...not going to happen because that would require thought, from now on you will be the member known as "don't".

I was thinking more along the lines of "disturbed."

Cruel Moonbear, very cruel :frown:.

Just don't call me don't because that could get confusing, don't you agree?

Hah! I like 'Circles' but DDMC could work fine.

1. Why won't ImageShack display my pictures anymore?

There could be a few reasons for this. If you are using the free version of ImageShack, your pictures may have exceeded the storage limit. In this case, you will need to delete some old pictures or upgrade to a paid account. Another possibility is that there is an issue with your internet connection or the ImageShack website itself. Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser's cache to see if that solves the problem.

2. I have an ImageShack account, but my pictures still won't display. Why?

If you have an ImageShack account and are still unable to display your pictures, it could be due to an error with the image URL. Make sure you are using the direct link to the image, rather than the link to the ImageShack page where the image is displayed. Additionally, check that the image is set to "public" rather than "private" in your ImageShack account settings.

3. Is there a limit to the size or type of images that can be displayed on ImageShack?

Yes, there are limits to the size and type of images that can be displayed on ImageShack. The maximum file size for a free account is 10MB, and only certain image formats (such as JPG, PNG, and GIF) are supported. If your image exceeds these limits, you will need to resize or convert it to a supported format before uploading it to ImageShack.

4. I used to be able to display my pictures on ImageShack, but now they are showing up as broken images. What happened?

This could be due to a few different reasons. It's possible that the images were deleted or moved from your ImageShack account, or that the direct link to the image has been changed. Also, if the images were uploaded a long time ago, they may have been automatically removed due to inactivity. Check your ImageShack account to see if the images are still there, and if not, you will need to re-upload them.

5. Can I embed ImageShack images on my website or blog?

Yes, you can embed ImageShack images on your website or blog. When viewing an image on ImageShack, click on the "Embed" button and copy the provided code. Then, paste the code into your website or blog's HTML code where you want the image to appear. Keep in mind that the image will still be hosted on ImageShack, so if it is deleted or removed, it will no longer display on your website or blog.
