Stop trying to sleep. Really. Try making yourself stay awake for something and you'll be dozing off before you know it...always works that way for me anyway.

Stick some headphones on your ears, queue up some songs you like and lay in bed. Sooner or later you just fall asleep.

That's what I do when I can't go to bed.

What's wrong, sweetie? Too much caffeine? Stress? I used to have this great book on relaxation techniques you could do at bedtime. I will try to find it for you. There was a great exercise on tensing and relaxing muscles -starting at your toes and working all the way to your forehead - and it works like a charm for me. It takes a long time to do because you go muscle group by muscle group and you have to tense each group for 10 seconds at a time but it really helps!

Write E=mc2 on your forehead in Sharpie every 20 minutes you are awake.

Just average 6 hours of sleep a day like me and you will have no problem sleeping at night. I promise. (Two days ago I came home from school and took a 'nap,' when I woke up it was 10:30 P.M. whoops.)

Ah, yeah! I can't sleep when I'm too tired and I just don't feel tired after an hour or more! Sounds like the problem is, being too tired.

If you can t sleep, then don t. watch some tv, movie, porn, magazine, chat online, do some homework...blah blah blah.

  15. Mar 11, 2006 #14
yep! i tossed and turned for about an hour, but finally nodded off. i accidently woke up at around 8am, but went back to bed and slept for a good 10 hours. only bad thing is that its a gorgeous day and i've missed most of it! awell, i'll go play some frisbee and it'll all be good.

Nothing is so sublimely beautiful as your love sleeping. It is the single source of all other joy and comfort in the world.
