I propose we make a new subforum to stop the spam crud

In summary, the purpose of creating a new subforum is to provide a dedicated space for addressing and managing spam on the forum. While it may not completely eliminate spam, it can significantly reduce the amount of spam on the forum by making it easier for moderators to identify and remove spam posts. The new subforum will be specifically dedicated to addressing spam and may have stricter posting guidelines. It will most likely be accessible to all registered users, but posting may be limited to moderators only. The creation of a new subforum should not affect the functionality of the current forum.

That is already in place. If you see spam, just hit the "report" button and it will go to the mentor's forum and be deleted.

I think the forum has implemented most of the viable options.

1. What is the purpose of creating a new subforum to stop spam?

The purpose of creating a new subforum is to provide a dedicated space for addressing and managing spam on the forum. This will make it easier for moderators to identify and remove spam posts, while also allowing users to report spam more efficiently.

2. Will this new subforum be effective in stopping spam?

While the creation of a new subforum may not completely eliminate spam, it can significantly reduce the amount of spam on the forum. By having a designated space for spam, moderators can quickly and efficiently address the issue, making it less appealing for spammers to target the forum.

3. How will the new subforum be different from the current forum?

The new subforum will be specifically dedicated to addressing spam, making it easier for moderators to identify and remove spam posts. It may also have stricter posting guidelines or require all posts to be approved by a moderator before being displayed to the public.

4. Who will have access to the new subforum?

The new subforum will most likely be accessible to all registered users on the forum. This will allow all users to report spam and help moderators keep the forum clean. However, posting in the subforum may be limited to moderators only.

5. Will the creation of a new subforum affect the functionality of the current forum?

No, the creation of a new subforum should not affect the overall functionality of the current forum. It will simply provide an additional space for addressing and managing spam. Users will still be able to access and use the forum as usual.
