I'm a fan of the Smart Car and the Mini Cooper!

Out of those, I'd go for the RSX. Nice car.

    You going brand new?

preferably yes, but i can do with anything that is 50k and below in mileage

If you want something that will just go, I'd get an Accord or Camry.

If you want something fast, I would get the Subaru and not the Civic or RSX.

Inside the RSX feels like a cheap piece of crap.

    Youch.

the new mini s isnt that bad, 179 hp but mpg is undetermined as of right now...and for some reason they dont even list the weight. if the weight is around 2300s i might just be thinking of getting it

I had a 2 door fully loaded olds alero (dont laugh just because its an oldsmobile it was an awesome car :P) and I loved it. Great car, very good power, around 30 city and 38 highway and handled great.

Go test drive them all! :) If I HAD to make a blind choice, I'd pick the civic, just because I like them. :-)

Are you a normal driver or do you have some track/off road experience?

Mini's are good, smarts are awful! Good idea, implemented all wrong, plus the 4 door are way over priced

I don't know where you are but i'm in europe and the car I would choose would bee the renualt Megane 225 cup. That has 225bhp and does a combined 33.2 mpg.

Smart cars suck, i work on them and they are terrible. I would get a civic type R or the sport version.

wow thats a sweet ride. i wonder how much they cost here in the US though, if they even sell them here.

if i had enough money id buy the lotus exige, but i am a poor mofo, so yea =/

Well they're about £18000 here in the Uk but I suppose you could find out where they're cheapest in europe and find out how much it would cost to ship in. But its a bit of a kerfuffle I guess. Could always see if they have US dealer.

If you want good gas mileage, superb handling and wonderful traction in any conditions, consider Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT limited. My wife has a base level Legacy (about 5 years old), and with it's AWD you cannot make it squeak a tire. It only puts about 160hp, but it is really torquey and responsive. The 2.5 GT is intercooled and turbocharged and puts out 245 hp. I'd like to try one, but am afraid that I would then want to buy one.

The styling of the Legacy is laid-back and is less likely to attract the interest of the gendarmes than some of the sportier designs. That might save you money in the future (fines and insurance) if you're a bit of a lead-foot.
