Hi all

I have applied to University to study EE in September. Are there any specific areas of maths that you would recommend concentrating on over the summer?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark. Three main areas that would be extremely useful are

1. Calculus and elementary differential equations..

2. Complex numbers.

3. Linear Algebra. Particularly as pertaining to vectors and matrices.

Well, those will become important as you get further into your program. However, if you are just starting your first year soon, make sure you have all the basics covered. Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus will be built upon, and used extensively and pervasively.
