Index Time Based On Distance

  1. Aug 21, 2012 #1
    Hi All,

    I need to calculate the index time of the following:

    Max Velocity = 2700mm/s
    Accel = 4000mm/s/s
    Decel = 4000mm/s/s
    Index Distance = x

    What Equations do I need to utilize in order to calculate the total index time for a specified distance?

    Can you be more specific? Is this homework? If so then you need to show some work.

    I assume by index time you mean to write an equation for distance which is a function of t using the velocity and accelerations provided. You haven't provided a context like is this on the earth with a ball thrown into the air or a ball rolling down a ramp...
