I was recently invited to be flown to one of the graduate physics programs that I applied to, to be interviewed for a fellowship award (acceptance pending and likely depending on this).
I'm fairly excited about this, although I'd like to know what my chances are of being accepted into the program.
How many potential graduate students are usually asked to come in for an interview for every open slot?
Will the interview only be over my intentions/goals/etc related to the program, or will my knowledge of physics be tested?
Besides the obvious things like coming off as very well informed and decided about their program and research, being inquisitive and sociable, etc., what else are the recruiters looking for in this process?
