Homework Help: Intramolecular interconversion

    I used acid to convert 6-bromohexaldehyde to cyclohexanol.

    3. The attempt at a solution

    But when the acid attacks the carbonyl, the Br leaves. It seems I am lost. Please click on the link below to see the questions I am asking. I need help in Q1, 2 and 3.
