I am kinda tall at 6'1" but man I feel short these days. Most of my friends are over 6'2" and I would say I feel shorter than about 25 % of guys (srs). Are people getting taller?
Yes, it is true that people are getting taller over time. This phenomenon is known as the "secular trend" and has been observed for centuries. It is a result of improved nutrition and healthcare, leading to better overall health and growth.
There are several factors that contribute to people getting taller. These include improved nutrition, better healthcare, and advances in medical technology. Additionally, genetic factors also play a role in determining a person's height.
On average, people stop growing taller around the age of 18-20. However, this can vary depending on genetic factors and individual differences. Some people may continue to grow taller into their early 20s, while others may stop growing earlier.
While being taller may have some advantages in terms of physical abilities and attractiveness, it can also come with some downsides. For example, taller individuals may be more prone to certain health issues such as joint pain and heart problems. They may also face challenges with finding clothes and furniture that fit properly.
It is difficult to predict exactly how much taller people will get in the future. Some experts believe that the secular trend will eventually reach a plateau, as the maximum height a human can reach is limited by genetic factors. However, with continued advancements in nutrition and healthcare, it is possible that people may continue to get taller, albeit at a slower rate.
