I looked on Google to see what sort of stats and issues there are, my sister had her child at 41 though not via IVF.
IVF would have been the next option had previous treatment not worked and I remember looking into it for her.
Being pregnant at 41 was no issue as she was in decent shape.
You can get IVF on the NHS in the UK and the age limit is 42, higher in other countries.

In terms of stats and I will let you peruse this article so you are aware of success rates.

A personal account I found

And this in the NYT

Of course the best place to start is with your GP and your partner to see what your options are.
Good luck.

1. How likely is it for a woman to have a successful IVF at age 42-43?

The success rate of IVF for women in their early 40s is lower compared to younger women. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the live birth rate for women aged 40-42 is around 13%, while for women aged 43-44, it drops to 5%. However, every woman's situation is unique, and factors such as overall health and fertility history can also play a role in the success of IVF.

2. Are there any risks associated with IVF at this age?

As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks associated with IVF, regardless of age. These risks can include ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, multiple pregnancies, and ectopic pregnancy. However, the risks for women in their early 40s are not significantly higher compared to younger women.

3. How can a woman increase her chances of success with IVF at age 42-43?

One of the most important factors for success with IVF at this age is the quality of the eggs. As women age, the quality of their eggs decreases, making it more difficult to achieve a successful pregnancy. To increase the chances of success, women can consider using donor eggs from a younger woman. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and following the doctor's recommendations for medications and procedures can also improve the chances of success.

4. Is there a limit to the number of IVF cycles a woman can undergo at this age?

There is no set limit to the number of IVF cycles a woman can undergo at this age. However, it is essential to discuss with a doctor about the risks and potential benefits of multiple cycles. In some cases, it may be recommended to consider alternative options such as adoption or using a surrogate.

5. What advice do you have for women considering IVF at age 42-43?

It is important for women to have realistic expectations and understand that the success rate for IVF decreases with age. It is also crucial to have a support system in place and to take care of one's physical and emotional well-being during the process. Consulting with a fertility specialist can also provide valuable information and guidance on the best course of action for each individual's situation.
