So I have a job interview for a program manager position next week and I am not sure what a program manager for an electrical engineering group does. Has anyone here been a PM? Also, what is the difference between a program manager and a project manager? They aren't the same thing, are they?

In a word, no. A project manager is more narrowly focused, with an established end-goal. A program manager almost always has extensive project management experience, and is in charge of multiple projects vital to the successful outcome of a single program.

I've been both. Projects are fun! Programs are a nightmare.
