John Hartnetts Carmelian universe

  1. Ive just read Hartnetts book where he expands on Carmeli's 5 dimensions theories. Hartnett cites the existance of a 5th dimension - spacevelocity - which accounts for the accelerated expansion of the universe and the behaviour of some cosmological objects. For example, the anomylous radial velocity at the perimeter of spiral galaxies. Conventional theory is that a halo of dark matter causes the outer edge of a galaxy to orbit faster than would be expected. Hartnett claims that a property of space/time itself (similar to Einstiens spacetime curvature) causes the speed increase. His theory has no need for the existance of dark matter or dark energy.

The arguments and equations presented are compelling. Are there any significant flaws in these theories?
