    Kepler's law questions

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

What effect will the tangential component of force have on the velocity of the planet?
What effect will the normal component of force have on the velocity of the planet?

    2. Relevant equations

    3. The attempt at a solution
I think that the tangential force change the value of the velocity, and they are in proportional relationship
The normal force change the direction of the planet.
I'm right about these? If not, can you explain the right answers? thank you very much

If memory serves me, Kepler's second law is equal time = equal area
