L head combustion chamber

    hey guys ,
    i am studying about the old combustion chambers. i came across the L head combustion chamber and am confused about the exact position of the spark plug.so please help me out of this.

    it is different for different engines obviously. they used to be used for aircraft engines, until they figured out that there was a much more efficient way to get power out of an engine, and it cost less to get more power per amount of fuel then to worry about the extra amount of money in manufacturing the engine itself. (not to mention, gas mileage is a great thing to improve on for aircraft). here is a picture of an older style, probably small engine (lawnmower?) with the spark plug shown maybe it might help http://html.rincondelvago.com/files/3/3/2/000333322.png
