The grapevine has it that the upper-level lab courses are garbage at my school - both the professors and what you learn. The non-lab coursework is pretty solid though. Can I skip the labs and just do the core physics courses if i am planning on doing astronomy/astrophysics for grad school? or should I get the lab credits elsewhere? Note I already have a BA so I just need physics credit, not another whole physics degree. I guess that begs another question - is having 'equivalent coursework' held against you in admissions, or as long as you have the credits it doesn't matter whether or not you have the physics degree piece of paper? Thanks
