Laser heat transfer equation in tissue

  1. Apr 18, 2013 #1
hi, this is more of a biomedical engineering question but since it involves heat transfer i thought i would run it by the mechanicals...

theres a cancer treatment called laser ablation and the dosage requirements are based on an understanding of how laser-light induced heat at a point source would propogate through tissue... i am looking for an equation that would describe this process in 2D... im guessing it will be a PDE, but i think it will be different from the standard conduction equating because the heat is being carried by photons...

    thanks in advance...

oh and could anyone let me know if they think there might be a better forum to post this question in?
