Line of best fit

  1. Feb 14, 2007 #1
Hi, should I use a line of best fit on a cumulative frequency graph or join the ponits. I looked on google and it;s all mis mashed. Is it arbituary or depend on data?

    Thanks

Whether or not you use a linear approximation rather than the actual data depends upon what it is you want to do with the data!

For a cumulative frequency graph join the points. The way cumulative frequencies are calculated there cannot be a linear relationship between what is measured and the cumulative frequency.
