Matlab help, creating a map from three arrays

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    I'm given three (one-dimensional) arrays, names x, y & p.
    I want to draw a map, where p determines the color, and (x, y) are the coordinates.

    3. The attempt at a solution
    Usually I would use contourf, but here x & y are distributed quite randomly on the plane, so I can't create them matrices with meshgrid (I tried just filling matrices with these arrays, and the result is horrible).

    I.e. The problem is that those are array that I should map and not matrices.
