mean section method

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    I have problem of obtaining the cross sectional area .

    3. The attempt at a solution
    Taking section 2-3 as an example , my working is [ (3.3 +4.8) / 2 ]* 5 = 20.25 , but the ans provided is 29.28 , how to get the 29.28 ?

    In section 2-3 the depths are

    5 and 7.2

    So the average depth is

    (5+7.2)/2=6.1

    The width is 4.8 so the area is 4.8*6.1=29.28
