I’m wondering why standard deviation is used as the main method of measuring dispersion, when i would consider that more ergonomic (user friendly) measurements are possible.(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

An example of such would be, the sum of |x-mean|/ n . I would think that the mean plus and minus this value would account for 50% of a normal distribution.
