    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me out with a couple of questions I have (which I am to embarrassed to ask my lecturer at this point...) I hope this is not a problem that I include a link to the lecture notes (it's more about basic vector maths than anything else probably...

In page 3 of the lecture notes in here: http://www.maths.gla.ac.uk/~drf/courses/mhd/lect2.pdf [Broken]

he says that the infinitesimal area δS = uδt x δl. I thought that you can only get the are if you a are looking at the magnitude of cross product...

Also, in page 5 where it says "Then, the total unsigned flux, given by..." ......= F1 - F2, but we are taking the modulus, of B.n how do we know the direction ?

Does anyone else think there is something fishy going on in these notes ?
