Microbial sampling from feet

  1. Mar 19, 2015 #1
Can anyone tell on how to take microbial sample from the feet of students (13-14 year olds).I have searched about many methods like williamson and kligman method but do not know the best method to carry out the sampling.I intend to give seperate kits to the children (around 50) so that they can do the sampling from the feet on their own at different specified times,so it shoul be quite safe and easy to use.

Use sterile q-tips and sterile sealable bags, giving test areas a nice rub. Are you looking for bottom of foot contamination or just normal foot microbes? The heaviest areas would be inbetween the toes and under the nails, but if you are looking for picked up contaminations then I'd sample the bottom edges of the feet
