Homework Help: Micrometer conversions

    What is the difference between 1[tex]\mu[/tex]m and 1nm? What are they called? are they micrometer and nanometer?

    How much of a mm are they???

    A nanometer (nm) is 10^-9 meters

    A micrometer(um) is 10^-6 meters

    A millimeter(mm) is 10^-3 meters.

    Sometimes a micrometer is called a micron.
