Homework Help: Microwave Assistance !

  1. Apr 20, 2010 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
Hi, I was wondering whether anyone new how to measure the effects of dielectric heating. Recently I have been looking into the functions of a microwave and understand how the process in which microwave heats food and other items by dielectric heating. I understand the process in which the heating occurs, i.e. the vibration of particals within the dipole-dipole bonds, and I understand this causes the temperature of the food object to rise.

    2. Relevant equations
Is there a way to measure/calculate the effects of dielectric heating as a figure or quantity

    3. The attempt at a solution
I have looked through many sites and the books and was wondering whether a simple formula or additional information could help me understand further how this heating process works. Any information would be helpful..

    Thanks
