Modular IC

I dont understand the meaning of the following statement.

SOME INSTRUMENTATION AMPLIFIERS ARE AVAILABLE IN MODULAR FORM TO SUIT SPECIAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS.

In the above statement i dont understand what is meant by modular form.
I know that module means a self-comtained independent unit but i guess all instrumentation amplifiers are self-contained independent units.

It probably means the IC, any power supply smoothing caps, temperature compensation etc all included on a PCB - and probably encapsulated in a plastic or metal case.
